Rocket League is no new game. It launched back in July 2015, but its popularity hasn't waned. In fact, it only seems to continue growing in popularity, likely due to the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) inking a deal with NBC last year and airing the tournament on live television.

Beware, though. The barrier to entry for Rocket League is low, but putting the game down once you start is a struggle. Games are short, fast-paced and addictive. Once you pick it up, you'll become obsessed with getting better, start humming the beats of the title music in your head and dream of getting vengeance on that one dude last night who wouldn't stop demoing (Rocket League's mechanic for blowing up an opponent by boosting into their car with your own) you.

If you wish to get better at Rocket League, the first steps are to stop trying so hard and to not forget to have fun. If you abandon that, what's the point anyway?

Below are 11 tips to help you climb the ranks of Rocket League.

Customize the camera settings

Before you take to the arena, spend some time in practice mode not only getting familiar with the mechanics of the game, but also setting up your camera. You can change the distance of the camera from your car, your field of view, the angle of the camera and much more. All of these things will affect what you can see in-game. And everyone has a slightly different preference for how it should look. Personally, I say the more I can see, the better.

Learn to rotate

When you're first starting out, positioning is the most important thing to pay attention to. It may seem like everyone is charging after the ball flat-out all the time -- it feels like pure chaos for a time. (To be fair, sometimes it is.)

But once you play the game for a while, you may begin to notice a pattern, aptly called "rotating."
When you and your teammates are properly rotating -- whether playing 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 -- the goal should never be left unattended. When one or two players push up for offense, one should remain back on defense. This gets more tricky when you're playing 2v2, but you must adapt the same principle to make sure someone is always keeping an eye on your goal.

This image breaks down rotation in 3v3 for both offense and defense. Study it. Become one with it.

Don't underestimate the handbrake

The handbrake is a tool I use as much as boost and jumping. It allows you to drift and whip your car around quickly to get into position, and it's helped me score a lot of unexpected goals. Get very familiar with it and use it to your advantage.

Don't chase the ball

Instinct will tell you to crash the ball anytime it comes near you. It happens, and sometimes instincts just take over. But if you're following a rotation, you should (very quickly, on the fly) assess who is in a better position to tackle the ball.

In many cases, you will find that it's your turn to drop back and defend. Even if it's not, dropping back to defend is generally the safer and better choice.

Even if you're properly rotating and you're going after the ball, your teammate may have a better angle. Rather than both crashing the ball (and it inevitably taking a weird bounce all the way downfield, back into your goal) back off and let the teammate with the better angle go for it. Often times, this will let them set up a better pass and maybe even earn you an easy goal.
The art of "leaving the ball" is a valuable lesson to learn.

Pass over shoot

Building on the ball chasing point, you'll sometimes find yourself in a situation where you have a pretty clear shot at goal. The urge to "break their axles" with a sick goal will be strong. If the other team is back and defending, resist the urge to take a shot. They'll be ready and waiting for almost anything you can throw at them.

Instead, take the ball wide, to one wall or the other, and get creative there with a pass to one of your teammates. The chances of a weird bounce, passing the ball to where a defender can't get to it or doing something unexpected are much higher than bumbling an accidental goal in over a few defenders.

Find a teammate

Whether you queue for ranked or casual matches, one of the best things you can do is find someone to play with. Not only will this lower the odds of one of you rage quitting when things get tough, you will learn to anticipate each other's moves much better than some random teammate.

This alone will increase your odds of winning.

When queueing without a teammate, you risk getting paired with teammates who are still upset from their last loss, in a bad mood or who don't know how to rotate properly. And it doesn't just have to be one of those things. Everyone's play style is different, and being able to read your own teammate and expect their next move will go a long way toward your own improvement.

Conserve precious boost

Boost is a precious resource in Rocket League. Even though it regenerates quickly, you will often find yourself without any, struggling to get back and defend your goal.

Instead of using boost all the time, you can "lunge forward" by holding the joystick forward and double-pressing the jump button. If you do this a few times, you can reach the same top speed as you can with boost (you just can't sustain that speed as well or maneuver as quickly or easily).

Learn to use both effectively in different situations to reduce the number of times you get stuck without boost.

Stealing boost from opponents is also a good strategy, so long as you're not going out of your way or breaking rotation to do so.

When in doubt, defend

If it's a question of rotation or whether or not you should swing wide to grab boost before heading toward your goal, you should almost always err on the side of defending and worrying about boost later.

Your teammate will be much more understanding of you missing a save without boost (and at least having had the chance of stopping it) than if you abandon the goal to grab boost and miss the opportunity to defend.

Don't be afraid to demo

When you boost (or sometimes flip or shoot) into an opponent, your car will blow theirs up. This is called a demolition and it's a very divisive tactic in Rocket League. Some people play as enforcers, cruising around just aiming for cars.

If done right, it can open up a lot of holes in the other team's game. If done poorly, it can open up holes in your own team's rotation. (It also doesn't make a lot of friends.)

Other players will usually whine in the quick chat when they get demolished, but there are times where a demo can change the momentum of the game. I recommend using demolitions as a tool. Don't go out of your way to use it, but if the opportunity presents itself … have at it! And try not to get too upset when it happens to you -- some players demo to get under your skin and throw you off your game.

Don't get too hung up on aerials and air dribbles

As you rank up, you will see people take to the sky to hit the ball. You'll also see them take the ball up the wall, bounce off and "air dribble" down into the goal. It adds a whole new element to the game as you rank up and begin playing with higher-skilled players.
Both of these are skills that will take a lot of practice and dedication. Being able to boost in the air to hit the ball is something anyone who hopes to advance at Rocket League should learn. But don't get too caught up on learning these skills early on -- just get the basics down first.
After logging over 900 hours in Rocket League to date, I've only just now started to get better at aerials. Air dribbling isn't even in my sights yet.

Don't feed the toxicity

Toxic players run rampant through Rocket League, both in ranked and unranked matches. There isn't much you can do about a teammate who enters the game already tilted, short of not engaging them and sticking to the game plan. But if things escalate, you can use the report tool and just hope for a better game next time.

The real tip here is to pay attention to your own actions. A few sarcastic "What a save!" messages in quick chat won't usually tip the scales. But it's easy to get sucked into the toxic minefield -- even I struggle with it at times. When I notice myself getting heated, it's usually followed by a few down-ranks and even more terrible play. It's better to just walk away or disable chat altogether.

11 Rocket League tricks for beginners

Destiny 2 players can get an edge on upping their Power Level by taking advantage of one small trick when infusing weapons.

Destiny 2‘s weapon infusion grants players the ability to raise the damage and Power Level of a weapon by infusing it with a superior one. This can benefit the player even more when it comes to weapons loaded with weapon mods, which can be slotted into a weapon for stat buffs like improved reload speed or accuracy. These mods come in different rarities, just like all other gear. Legendary mods grant a bonus 5 points of power level, which may not seem like much until players begin infusing weapons.

If the player has a weapon with 250 power—let’s call it Weapon A—but equips it with a Legendary mod, its power level will be listed as 255: the 250 base level, and then a +5 bonus. Infusing a 260 weapon—which we’ll call Weapon B—into Weapon A without the mod on Weapon A would normally bring it up to Weapon B’s original power of 260. Because the weapon you’re infusing into (A) has a mod, however, the +5 bonus gets added on top of its newly infused power level, making it 265 power instead of 260.

Players that keep this trick in mind when infusing weapons will enhance the speed at which they can rank up their power level—but they should note that the trick does not work if the mod is on the other weapon. Let’s replay the same example from above the example above, but imagine the mod is on Weapon B this time. With the +5 bonus shifted around, Weapon A now has a power level of 250 and Weapon B now has 265: its 260 base level, +5 from the mod. Now, when you infuse Weapon B into Weapon A, the mod (now on B) will be lost in infusion process. As a result, Weapon A will only benefit from being infused by Weapon B’s base power level of 260, with the +5 disregarded. That means you’ll end up with Weapon A at 260 power, less than you might initially expect.

Guardians should also note that mods cannot be removed once they are placed on weapons. In light of this trick, it may prove useful to think about how you’ll be infusing your weapons later on before you instal any Legendary mods.

In other Destiny 2 news, players are not happy with the game’s current practice of selling its community in-game goods for real money. In its current state, many fear that the game could soon become pay-to-win.

Destiny 2 infusion trick will help you get the most out of your weapons

Despite the mountain of Overwatch tips circulating around on the internet, starting your heroic streak isn't as easy as Tracer's effortless cavorting around the map would have you believe. Should you focus on mastering one character, or try to spread your expertise out to a handful of other fighters? Are any of them powerful enough to tackle enemies alone? All the things you absolutely have to know before you boot up your first match are below, along with some more advanced tips for when you get more confident. After all, the world needs heroes. And it's time for you to become one.

1. Be flexible and learn at least one character of each class

Until you've reached the upper echelons of skill, it's best to focus on balance when figuring out your team's hero composition. The in-game prompts do a great job of nudging you in the right direction, giving a clear indication of when your ranks could really use a Support hero or a turret builder. But, as is the case in most multiplayer arenas, you'll inevitably get paired up with some players who insist on playing their favorite hero, with no consideration for what the team actually needs. You're not that selfish - so you should endeavor to master at least one hero from the Offense, Defense, Tank, and Support classes so you can fill in at a moment's notice. If you're unsure which playstyle might suit you, look to Soldier 76, Bastion, Reinhardt, and Lucio - they're effective and beginner-friendly heroes in their respective roles.

2. Stay focused on the win condition

Team Fortress 2 veterans will surely remember the Medic's classic line, "Get on the point, dummkopf!" Translation: If you're chasing after kills instead of prioritising the objective, you're not doing it right. Takedowns will only go so far in Overwatch, because the win conditions are always objective-based, whether you're capturing a point or pushing a payload. It's most important to remember this when your team wipes out the opposition and starts gaining momentum - that's when it's easiest to get cocky and overextend way too far into enemy territory, rather than using the downtime to lock down the objective. Ideally, you should always be standing on a point, escorting a payload, or focusing on the next opportunity to do so.

3. Don't fight alone

This is a classic mistake that plagues plenty of multiplayer shooters: amidst the chaos of a battle, your teammates keep charging the enemy one by one, and predictably get picked off in quick succession by the grouped-up opposing forces. It sounds obvious, but always remind yourself: this is a team game, and your team needs to stick together. Your abilities are designed to excel when used in tandem with your allies, so grouping up makes you (and by extension your team) that much more effective. Even if you're playing a hero who's incentivised to go rogue and flank the enemy, like aggressors Reaper and Tracer or snipers Hanzo and Widowmaker, you should still aim to engage when the opponents are actively distracted by your frontline Tanks and Support allies. There is one exception, though...

4. It's worth it to die for Overtime

Overtime is the only instance where diving into the fray solo makes sense: if you're able to contest a capture point or merely touch your team's payload, you'll get a brief time extension on the match. And while your team won't always be able to clutch victory from the jaws of defeat in those final precious seconds, it's always worth it to try. Don't be the player who backs away in some strange sense of self-preservation at the end of a match - seize the moment and bravely leap onto the objective, dancing around to try and stay alive as long as you can. The better you are at stalling the conclusion of the match-ending objective, the better chance your team has to take home the win with a miraculous finish.

5. Master the art of constant movement

Snipers are just as deadly in Overwatch as they are in any other FPS - maybe even more so, given that Hanzo and Widowmaker both have abilities that let them see you through walls to help line up the perfect shot. So to make snipers' lives harder and prolong your own, you need to keep moving at all times. Get used to the idea that you should constantly be dancing around mid-fight, especially if you're playing a highly targeted Support hero. Even traditionally stationary heroes like Bastion and Torbjorn should always be mindful of how fatal standing still can be, and should be looking to switch up their defensive posts to keep the enemy guessing.

6. Use that Skirmish time to learn new characters

The average player isn't going to create a Custom Game just so they can explore every nook and cranny of the maps. But what you are guaranteed to encounter, at least if you're playing in a group, is the Skirmish mode: a welcome way to pass the time while Blizzard's servers try to appropriately match you up into a game. Here, you're able to freely move around a randomly selected map in a little sparring match, where objectives aren't present and the outcome at large doesn't matter once you load into an actual match. Instead of battling opponents like you always do, use this brief respite to poke around the map and see if you can find any health packs, hiding spots, or alternate paths you might've overlooked before. You never know when that map awareness will come in handy.

7. Pursue alternate routes when you get stuck

As the attacking team, there will inevitably be times when your momentum seems to stall out at chokepoints that heavily favor the defending side. Maybe it's downwind of the perfect sniper perch, or small enough that you just can't seem to break through a Reinhardt shield. Chances are, if your team keeps stopping dead at this junction, repeatedly blitzing the problem area isn't going to fix things. Overwatch's maps don't do the best job of telling you this, but there are usually multiple routes you can take to reach your objectives - it's just that they're sometimes tucked away in shadows, or connect to an out-of-the-way opening in your spawn point. Keep a lookout for these side avenues of attack whenever you team is stuck in a rut, because odds are, the opposing team either isn't expecting an offensive push from that side, or they too had no idea it was there in the first place.

8. Blow off some steam with Arcade modes

Like all competitive games, Overwatch can sometimes make you go on tilt. If you've lost a few games in a row, failed to seal the deal on a dominating early lead, or got saddled with uncooperative teammates, it's easy to get frustrated - and that frustration will inevitably impact your play for the worse. Instead of falling further into despair, take a break from the 'regular' action of Quick Play and hop into one of the Arcade modes instead. Mystery Heroes assigns you a random hero on respawn, whereas No Limits lets you select any hero without restrictions, and these for-funsies modes drastically alter the flow of matches. The unbalanced chaos of these brawls can be just the break you need from the 'serious' stakes of regular matches. Win or lose, the sheer variety of these modes should alleviate your stress and make you excited, rather than furious or anxious, to play more.

Overwatch - 8 tricks to start your winning streak

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may not support the level of mod creativity that games like Skyrim and Fallout 4 do, but that hasn’t stopped folks from using in-game tools and mechanics to come up with unique creations and tricks. The sheer amount freedom and experimentation is seemingly limitless and players are continually finding ways to skip entire sections of dungeons, defeat enemies in weird and creative ways, and even use game mechanics to accomplish tasks that the developers may not have considered. I’ve searched the depths of the web to find the most creative things I’ve seen in Breath of the Wild, just don’t blame me if you delay rescuing Zelda for another 100 hours!

Magnesis Airship takes Link to new heights

Galloping around Hyrule on your trusty steed is a fantastic way to see the sights, but it doesn’t come close to taking to the skies and enjoying the sweeping plains and landscaped vistas with your very own flying machine. YouTuber mety333 devised one of my favourite inventions, putting both the paraglider and the Magnesis Rune to fantastic use. The flying machine can be made by combining one metal block and a discarded mine cart and is controlled by magnetizing the mine cart with Link’s Magnesis Rune. Once you have reached the highest point, simply jump off and paraglide your way around Hyrule. Just make sure you cook up a bunch of stamina boosting meals and potions to avoid making a Link size imprint in the ground below. Be sure check out this handy cooking guide to ensure you’re best prepared before for your flight.

Bringing Mario Kart to Hyrule

Considering just how large the map in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is, why not cruise around Hyrule in style? Before you start zooming around the lush green plains and rocky mountains, the following materials are required. Thankfully, the list is short and the materials are easy to acquire, as the go-kart only requires: one metal treasure chest and a mine cart. Both these items can be found in the northern part of the map on Death Mountain. Once you’ve located the items needed, simply place the chest in the front of the Kart with your Magnesis Rune and use it to propel yourself forward. It's not perfect, as it's all too easy to push the chest out of its socket, especially when you’re on uneven terrain, but with a little practice you’ll be tearing through Hyrule in no time.
Climbing towers and scaling mountains doesn’t always need to be arduous, as a Japanese Twitter user found out. Kfurumiya used Link’s Magnesis and Remote Bomb to turn a humble tree into a useful climbing aid. The player cuts down the tree and lets it fall on top of the bomb, before applying Magnesis on the log, freezing it in place while Link slashes at it with his sword. Just before the timer runs out, Kfurumiya activates the bomb which launches Link into the clouds above. The temporary boost gives Link enough time to jump off the log and begin his flight towards the tower. This simple technique can be used almost anywhere and is especially helpful when dealing with some of the game’s trickier towers and obstacles.

Cooking up a Cucco storm

Attacking a Cucco in any Zelda game is not only incredibly mean, but it will also cause the normally docile chickens to become utterly ruthless in their pursuit for revenge. When provoked, the Cucco will call upon the entire flock to raise hell from the skies, forcing the player to run away as fast as they can or seek shelter from their onslaught. This has led to players using Hyrule’s feisty birds to take down all manner of enemies, especially those that prove rather troublesome. Simply grab a Cucco from a nearby town or village, put it in front of an attacking enemy, and let the poultry storm begin. The Master Sword may be more efficient at killing enemies, but the Cucco’s certainly provide a more humorous way to settle a fight.

Shrine shortcuts

Breath of the Wild’s shrines offer a variety of puzzles and challenges that most players need to solve in order to obtain what lies within them. However, some folks have figured out ways to break shrines in ways that allow them to skip certain trials. There are many elaborate ways to exploit the physics within Breath of the Wild, but the most common shrine skips utilise shield jumps and bomb boosting. Shield jumping gives Link a double jump, while the use of the Remote Bomb gives Link an added boost. YouTuber Adrylek has a whole host of videos dedicated to finding unique ways to solve Breath of the Wild’s various shrines. The video above for example, uses Cryonis to give Link some added height before using a shield jump and bomb to launch him into the locked room. Shrine skips have become extremely popular and they are one of the ways that show off just how creative Breath of the Wild’s community really is.

Hylian crafted fireworks

There are no tricky mechanics needed to make this pretty fireworks display, but there are some expensive and very rare items involved. Dragon Horns are the main ingredient here and they just happen to be one of the most valuable items in the game. These horns can be used to upgrade various armour and provide 30 minute boosts when cooked into recipes, so blowing them up is usually the last thing on most people’s minds. Collecting the horns also takes a lot of time as well, especially when you consider that Link can only collect one horn from each dragon per in-game day. However, YouTube user GirKart64 showcased that blowing up a bunch of these prized horns can make for a rather pretty spectacle. If you have a bunch of unused horns lying around, why not have a crack at lighting up the night sky?

Battle of the behemoths

Part of what makes Breath of the Wild such a joy to play is the interaction the various enemies have with the world around them. Watching a pack of Bokoblins trying to hunt a wild boar or seeing them dance around a crackling fire makes the world feel alive. However, Breath of the Wild’s baddies don’t really interact with one another, unless you happen to lead a Stone Talus into a Guardian’s territory. YouTube user Tristan Cooper captured the moment he provoked these two behemoths into fighting one another. Both originally had their sights firmly trained on Link, but this all changed when the Stone Talus accidentally hit the Guardian with a rocky blow. The ancient machine tries to respond by firing its deadly laser, but it’s unable to target Talus’ weak spot and instead lays motionless on the floor. There’s something rather nice about seeing a Guardian being launched across the field, especially since their deadly lasers led to many of Link’s deaths.

7 ingenious tricks and hacks players have discovered in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies is full of waves of horrific creatures, who would love nothing more than to eat (and scare) you to death. But besides the undead, you’ll also find challenging puzzles that will help you uncover priceless artifacts behind enemy lines.

Sledgehammer Games has not only made the traditional Call of Duty zombies game mode accessible for newer players, it is also a truly blood-curdling experience for all who dare to play it.

With that said, Nazi Zombies can be just as challenging as any Call of Duty zombies experience, and you won’t get far without knowing a few survival tips. With that in mind, read on and learn how to stay alive in the opening Nazi Zombies chapter – The Final Reich.

Explore Mittelberg

Much like Call of Duty: WWII’s Campaign and Mutliplayer modes, you should not expect to master Nazi Zombies the first time you experience it.

The Prologue may give you a huge confidence boost, as well as a nightmare or two for the nights ahead, but it’s well worth paying attention here to learn how this mode works.

After you learn the ropes in the Prologue, the small village of Mittelberg where Nazi Zombies takes place has many secrets in store, from craftable hidden weapons to epic boss battles. Take a game or two to open up many of the areas on the map to learn the layout, or take the time to experiment with weapons so that you can figure out what combination you like best.

Essentially, do not be discouraged if you die in Nazi Zombies. It is meant to be a challenging experience, and you are bound to master it through trial, error, and practice.

Your Journal is Your Friend

While Nazi Zombies will not hold your hand on the path to completion, it does give you a helpful guide in the form of a Journal.

This Journal tracks your main objective in The Final Reich: to retrieve Emperor Frederick Barbarossa's sword, an ancient relic that seemingly possesses supernatural powers, from Doktor Straub’s bunker. Whenever you complete a task, the journal will mark your progress, and give you hints about the next part of the mission.

The journal can also track Easter Eggs outside of the main objective, however, it will not give away important steps on how to complete these, nor will it reveal the existence of them until you discover them on your own.

Load Out Before You Roll Out

As you level up in Nazi Zombies, you will unlock loadout options for your character that you can equip before you load into every game. These options include mods, specials, weapon kits, and consumables.

Mods are equivalent to Basic Training in Call of Duty: WWII’s Multiplayer, and are permanent boosts to your character in-game. These boosts may give you extra ammo or grenades when spawning in, more frequent or longer lasting power-ups, and even extra benefits to your specials.

Specials are powerful effects that charge up through killing zombies and range from camouflaging yourself so that zombies ignore you, to gaining unlimited ammunition for a short period of time. You can equip mods and specials once you reach level five in Nazi Zombies.

Weapon kits are how you can customize the weapons of Nazi Zombies to your liking. Whether you want to slap on your favorite camo, or equip an extended mag and a grip, weapon kits will give you a slight edge against the zombie horde with attachments that are also available in Call of Duty: WWII’s Multiplayer. You will gain new attachments as you level up in Nazi Zombies, and you can unlock all attachments at the final levels of your progression.

Finally, consumables are one-time use items that give you guaranteed weapons in the Mystery Box, free power-ups, or a discount on the machines located around Mittelberg.

Choose Your Blitzes Wisely

Mittelberg has several machines called “Blitzes” that act as perks in Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies. You can purchase Blitzes with Jolts, the in-game currency earned through killing zombies, which is also used for purchasing weapons and unlocking new areas.

Six Blitzes are available to purchase around Mittelberg. For example, there is Lebenblitz in the spawn area, which automatically revives you in solo play and increases your revival speed in multiplayer. Other Blitzes include Faustblitz, which increases your melee damage, Schnellblitz, which makes you reload faster, and Schildblitz, which releases a burst of damaging electricity when you reload your weapon.

While all of these blitzes sound great, you can only equip four of them at a time (five if you choose a specific mod in your loadout). You can unequip Blitzes by returning them to the machine you bought them from, but with these Blitzes costing thousands of Jolts, it is best to think twice before purchasing one.

Furthermore, Jolts are not easy to come by, and you will often face a choice between a new weapon, a new area, or a Blitz. Assess your situation when figuring out what to do with your Jolt stockpile, and if you are comfortable with your weapons and can access almost all of Mittelberg, then go ahead and stock up on Blitzes.

Locate the Mystery Box

Yes, the Mystery Box is back in Nazi Zombies, and it works the same way it did in previous games. Hidden beneath Mittelberg, this supernatural box will aid you in survival, as it gives you an opportunity to provide your arsenal with an added punch via some special weapons.

For the reasonable price of 1000 Jolts, you will receive a random weapon from the Mystery Box. Usually, the best weapons to get from the Mystery Box are Light Machine Guns, as they provide a ton of ammo as well as some of the best lethality in game. If you use the Mystery Box and receive an MG 15 or MG 42, then consider yourself one lucky survivor and use it wisely.

The Mystery Box always spawns in the Command Room at the start of each game, but after a pre-determined number of uses, it will move to another location on the map. You will have to search around Mittelberg if you want to use the box again, and that may mean backtracking or opening new areas to find the elusive Mystery Box.

Discover “Die Ubersprengen”

Also making its return to Nazi Zombies is the Upgrade Station, known as the “Ubersprengen,” where for a cool 5000 Jolts you can turn your weapon into an even more powerful zombie killing machine with a bit of Geistkraft. Every upgraded weapon receives a major damage boost, and some offer other benefits such as explosive rounds or quicker speed when aiming down sights.

The Upgrade Station can be found in the Sewers, but is sealed inside a rusty iron cage linked to a few chains hanging from the ceiling. You can access this machine by solving a simple puzzle, but you may have to get a bit dirty to figure it out.

The Upgrade Station also doles out ammunition for your upgraded weapons for 4000 Jolts, so if you run out of ammo, stop wishing for a Max Ammo (or Taschen Voll) to spawn and head back to the station for a refill!

Assemble Your Crew

Nazi Zombies is a great solo experience, but often times you will be overwhelmed by the zombie horde when going at it alone.

What can you do to survive longer in Nazi Zombies? By inviting your friends to play along with you, or joining allies online. Whether you decide to play with your buddy next to you in split screen, on a four-player local server, or online with players from around the world, you will greatly increase your chances at survival and solving Easter Eggs as a team rather than as a lone wolf.

Keep in mind that when you play with others, a headset is key for communication. Working together and talking constantly is the best way to stay alive, and to plan ahead for the next challenge. Make sure to call out engagements, and work together to solve puzzles.

So, what are you waiting for? Find some friends, load up Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies, and be prepared to spend an evening uncovering the secrets of Doktor Straub in Mittelberg!

Tricks for Surviving Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies

While there are many different elements to the new God of War game, you’ll be spending most of your time battling Norse nasties with Kratos’ ever-reliable frost axe. Before you get stuck in with Sony Santa Monica’s latest and greatest, though, we figured we’d compile some combat tips and tricks to help the beginners among you get started on the front foot.

Don’t rush

Regardless of what difficulty you play God of War on, you’re going to want to approach each combat encounter with a degree of caution. Pay attention to your surroundings, make note of which directions enemies are coming from, and put your own safety first. While this game generally isn’t as punishing as, say, Bloodborne, many of the same principles apply. It’s all about managing crowds, so don’t go rushing into a horde and get yourself overwhelmed. Use your dodges and rolls (assigned to the X button) to create space, and throw your axe if you want to chip away at an enemy’s health from a safe distance.

Throw your axe

As mentioned above, throwing your axe can be a great way of causing damage while maintaining a safe distance from your foes. Remember that you can also use it to freeze some enemies in place, allowing you to use your fists on another antagonist. Try to pay attention to where all of the enemies are and effectively manage the space. Later upgrades in the axe skill tree enable you to lock on to multiple adversaries and body parts, meaning that you can throw your axe and incapacitate groups of enemies for several seconds, giving you precious time to collect resources or deal with other threats.

Know thy enemy

God of War has a massive codex that includes lore and strategies for every enemy in the game. Some foes require unique tactics – Revenants, for example, will largely remain invisible unless hit by one of Atreus’ arrows – so make sure you know how to fight each and every opponent. As the game starts to mix and match these foes, you’re going to have to come up with strategies on the fly. It’s best to take out weaker, flying enemies first for example, as they can interrupt your attacks on the ground and break your stride. Also, consider that you can mount some of the larger troll enemies once you’ve stunned them enough, allowing you to wreak havoc on the rest of the grunts on the battlefield.

Atreus is your friend

While the game may be all about Atreus learning how to become a man, the youngster is actually an essential part of combat. Not only are his arrows required to defeat some enemies, but he’s also superb at helping you to manage space by distracting enemies and incapacitating them. Keep in mind that Atreus’ arrows inflict stun damage, and once an adversary is shaken, you can sprint in for a finisher using the R3 button. Make sure you’re frequently upgrading the Talon Bow and purchasing skills for Atreus, because you want him to be able to reload as quickly as possible, otherwise you will struggle in later fights. Get used to relying on him; you can’t do this all on your own.

Get out of the way

God of War has a quick-turn button mapped by default to down on the d-pad. While this sounds like a small thing, it’s actually essential given the game’s camera perspective, as it means you can quickly retreat. Again, it’s all about crowd management and using space effectively. If you’re surrounded – there’s an indicator that will point out any incoming threats around Kratos' waist – then quick turn out of the way and put some distance between you and your foes. Getting overwhelmed is the easiest path to a premature death.

Always have a Resurrection Stone on hand

Early on in the game, you’ll be able to purchase Resurrection Stones from the various shops in the game. Make sure you’ve always got one of these on-hand, as it means that Atreus will be able to revive you should you fall in combat. It essentially gives you an extra life, and while the cheap Resurrection Stones only revive you with a minuscule amount of vitality, they’re still super useful if you want to avoid having to restart at the nearest checkpoint.

Pay attention to Kratos’ stats

Early on in the game, Kratos’ gear won’t really have much of an impact on the kind of character that you’re creating, but as you progress you’ll unlock armour that recovers health and adds other essential perks to your attack arsenal. Our advice would be to just pay attention to the type of gear you’re using, and take note of what it’s actually doing. In some instances, you may want to spec towards strength, but other scenarios may demand a more defensive approach. There are options available for all eventualities, so spend a bit of time looking at how your stats are distributed and what you need to do to achieve your objectives. You can learn more about what Kratos' stats mean through the link.

God of War Director Pitched ‘One Shot’ Trick for Tomb Raider

One of the games that has managed to give players what they want pretty successfully, is Fortnite, available on PS4, Xbox 1, Windows and Mac. Fortnite is a co-op sandbox survival game that takes place in a contemporary earth. 98% of the earth is wiped out by a huge storm, causing zombie-like creatures to rise up and attack the remaining humans. Here are every help you need in the game.10 tips and tricks in FORTNITE Battle Royal!

#10 Change your settings

So many players are so excited when they first boot up the game that they just go straight into playing it, and find that the controls are jarring and don’t suit their method of gameplay. One of the best things you can do to give yourself the best chance is to head to the game settings screen before you begin to play. Here you can change your controller sensitivty (or mouse sensitivity if you’re on the computer), you can invert your view, toggle sprint, or even turn vibration off. These settings may seem like a small thing, but it can make the difference between you escaping an enemy, and getting crunched! Or you getting that headshot, or shooting wildly off-target. You can change this when you wait for the battle bus to take off!

#9 Practice shooting

Another pretty simple tip that can help you just that extra little bit. Before dropping onto the map, you are sent to a sort of pre-deployment area. Here you can locate weapons you might want to use and actually practice your shooting skills. This is a great aspect of the game, especially if you are just starting out, but also if you have just sat down to play the game and you want to get a good feel of it. You can pick up your favoured weapon, fire a few shots and see if it feels right, you can also test out the sensitivity of your controls while you do this. Along with aiming, reloading and switching weapons.

#8 Get to the high ground

You need to be strategic in this shooting game, you can’t just hope to spray a load of bullets and kill all your enemies in one fell swoop. It definitely takes a bit more strategy than that! So, what better way to get a leg up on the competition, than to take a page out of Obi Wan Kenobi’s book and get to the high ground! The high ground, especially in Fortnite is a great vantage point at which to assess your enemies movements and plot how exactly you are to go about winning the game. It will be easier to spot enemies, search out pick ups, and know what areas on the map are safe and what areas are a little bit more dangerous.

#7 Watch your landing

Just before you start shooting up the place, you have to jump from the battle bus. This is a really important moment in the game, as it can tip your match one way the other! The best thing you can do in this situation, is to aim for the lower terrain on the map. Basically, aim for rivers or flat areas over mountains, trees or anything else. Once you start aiming for low points, the glider will open a bit later and you can land sooner! Why is this important? Well you can land and find crates, hiding places and more. Finding crates and things like this before your opponents can really make the difference between life and death in this game!

#6 Use the building function

Though the building function can seem like a useless accessory in this shoot-em-up game, it can really become your new secret weapon if you use it right! Just keep building! And this doesn’t mean you have to be building forts 24/7, build anything! Walls, ramps and sort of obstacle that you can create. Why? Because it protects you, that’s why! There are enemies coming at you from every inch of this map, every little nook and cranny of the game! You need to have some sort of protection! Building ramps and things like that can give you the high ground advantage whilst also protecting you from fire! Just make sure that you are collecting materials as you go around!

#5 Close the doors

You weren’t born in a barn, please don’t leave that door open! Yes there is a reason other than simple politeness, an open door is a symbol to another play of someone entering that door. So picture this, you’ve just found an amazing hiding place, better than any other you’ve ever seen. You quickly race into the door and run upstairs. Players outside can see this door has been opened, and they will follow you up, search you out and probably kill you! If you value your life, close the door behind you. This way players will not realise you have gone into the building and you will stay safe that little bit longer.

#4 Bang your volume up!

Don’t be sitting playing this game with the volume all the way down! The sound design is funny, entertaining and actually informative. If you push the volume up, you will actually be able to make out enemies footsteps. This way you can actually know if there is someone approaching you before they know you they've even seen you or you can know when a player's we're creeping up on them, it's just a little nice tip that can actually give you the leg up on your competition just be aware players may also be listening to your footsteps so tread lightly.

#3 cover each other

One of the best things about modern games is that they are actually getting more and more and more realistic as they go before you would be able to just run into a room and do your best to blast everyone in there you'd probably get pretty far with a strategy - but now games require you to be a little bit more subtle and intellectual with your movements and actions this being the case make sure that you work as a team in this game in the duo's mode and cover each other at every given opportunity one of the best ways to do this is to keep a distance from your team whilst advancing through an area this will make enemies believe they have found a player on their own and that they can easily pick you off which means you can get the jump on number two.

#2 the noise of the crates

The crates in fortnight are great means of getting an advantage over the other players when you need it, they can actually give you any number of items that will help you win out a gunfight, but one of these things that can actually be annoying about them is the sound they admit you will hear a sort of shimmering noise as you close in on a crate, you need to learn to use this to your advantage do you're building and running around near a crates it's noise will mask the noise of your construction or your footsteps so players will not spot you as easily as if you were building something away from a crate.

#1 use traps

Like in any game of its kind traps to provide you with easy, effortless kills, but it depends on exactly where you place them if you place them in the clearing of an open land you might not get that much success, of 600 characters and was partially checked, but you need to think strategically about it hide one in the entrance to a house or in a doorway have a look next time you are playing at where players are constantly moving through this will be the ideal place to set up a trap and get the jump on someone there you have it, now you will have a certain advantage over your competition in this increasingly popular game see out for enemies this fortnight moves extremely fast and you can lose your footing on your enemies pretty easily, but if you follow these tips you will have the best chance out there before you go away and start trying them all while make sure you this trick with your friends.
